3 Days of Discovery
This First International Coastal Resilience Symposium (ICRS) intends to bring together scientists and graduated students concerned with coastal resilience from different disciplines and backgrounds, to stimulate scientific discussion, and to provide a forum for encouraging feedback related to interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary ongoing or future projects.
It is sponsored by the mexican National Coastal Resilience Laboratory (LANRESC) and the National University of Mexico, understanding the coastal resilience as "the capacity of any socio-ecological system to recover or reach new equilibrium, at different rates and scales, after the impact of chronic (stress) or acute (shock), socio-economic or environmental processes or forcings, maintaining its functionality and services".

The symposium includes keynote speakers, oral and poster sessions, to connect junior and senior level scientists from different disciplines, as well as students in an informal atmosphere, and to foster networking for future international collaborative projects related to coastal resilience.New Paragraph
